The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 is one of the brand's most popular products, offering multiple forms of hyaluronic acid at an incredibly accessible price. The serum combines low, medium, and high molecular weight HA to hydrate multiple layers of skin, from surface to deeper levels. The addition of vitamin B5 enhances surface hydration and promotes healing. The lightweight, water-based serum absorbs quickly and layers well with other products. When applied to damp skin, it provides a noticeable plumping effect and helps other products absorb better. The formula is straightforward—just hydration without unnecessary additives—making it suitable for all skin types and safe to use morning and night. However, the serum has some drawbacks. The texture can feel slightly sticky or tacky until fully absorbed. In dry climates, hyaluronic acid can actually draw moisture OUT of the skin if not sealed with a moisturizer. Some users experience pilling when layering with certain products, particularly silicone-based primers. The dropper packaging, while iconic for The Ordinary, isn't the most hygienic.
